On 03 May 1967 B Company, 1st Bn, 5th Infantry lost four men in the Ho Bo Woods about 7 Kilometers South-Southeast of Ben Suc when their
armored personnel carrier was hit by recoilless rife fire:
SP4 Lee Henderson Russ was born in McNeil, Columbia County, South Carolina and was survived by his mother Queen Esther (Johnson) Tooks (1925-2002), of Stephens Arkansas. He was pre-deceased by his father, Leon Russ (1924-1944), 4 months before Lee was born. Lee is buried in the same cemetery as his mother, Macedonia (aka Beech Hill) (African American) Cemetery, Columbia County, Arkansas. - - The Virtual Wall, July 8, 2018
