The update to this page began with the submission of two photos to post from his sister in Kansas. Additional research
revealed PFC Ward was killed while on a combat operation when a booby trap was detonated.
Photo taken when PFC Ward was on a fire support base. Notice the Armored Personnel Carrier over his left shoulder parked between the sandbagged bunkers. Date and location unknown. | ||
PFC Ward is buried in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Wichita, Kansas. At the time of his death, he was survived
by his mother, Ada R Ward. He was pre-deceased by his father, Earl R Ward, a World War II Veteran, on June 28, 1958. Earl was a Technical
Specialist (Level 4) with the 10th Tank Battalion, Division unknown but most likely part of the 10th Division.
