Terry was a classmate in Flight School at Fort Wolters, Texas, in class 69-35. I remember the weekends that we would be restricted to base because of too many demerits, we always had a good time even though we couldn't go anywhere. At Fort Rucker Terry had a Camero that was white with orange racing strips he liked to speed around the base with. His sacrifice will always be remembered. Rest in peace Terry. Warrant Officer Terry L Henry was killed while piloting his aircraft on a combat operation when his aircraft was fired upon by a hostile ground force, crashed, and burned in a rice paddy about 5 miles southwest of the city of Phy Vinh, Mekong Delta, Vinh Binh Province. He was piloting a "Huey" UH-1C, Tail Number 66-15148. Personnel in the area were on hand immediately and accounted for all personnel except Crew Chief, SP4 Stephen Harold Haight. Haight was declared dead on 7 Aug 1970 as his body was not recovered from the burned out wreckage. On May 17, 1973, the site of the crash was again searched, aided by metal detectors, centered on the coordinates of the crash. SP4 Haight's remains again were not found. Terry L Henry is buried in Clarion Cemetery, Clarion Pennsylvania near his father Robert E Henry (1925-2000), a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Force from Jan. 3, 1944 to May 23, 1946. His father received the Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon and the Philip Pines Liberation Ribbon. WO Henry, in addition to the medals depicted above, also was awarded a 15 Device for the additional Air Medals and an Expert Badge with M-14 Rifle (Rifle Bar).
