My father was graduated from the University of Houston in 1950 and played some football there too. His sister Marge always called him "Buddy". He loved life and people and he loved to fly. He served in Korea and flew B-57s with the 13 Bomb Sqn (the Grim Reapers) before joining the 773rd Tac Airlift Sqdn as a C-130 navigator. He was a leader by example. He has reached out and touched the face of God ....

A Note from The Virtual WallOn 23 June 1969 a C-130 (tail number 61-0965) from Tan Son Nhut was conducting a resupply flight to the Special Forces base at Katum. While flying at 3000 feet it was hit in the port wing area by radar-controlled quad .50 caliber antiaircraft gunfire. The hits caused a fire and engine failure, and the C-130 spun into the ground. There were no survivors of the crash. The bodies of four crewmen were recovered shortly afterwards, but the other two men were not repatriated until 1994. The crewmen were
