Sergeant Faison began his tour on April 30, 1969 and was killed in action 7 months later when his unit encountered a hostile force. He died from fragmentation wounds. He was survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Charles W Faison, Highway 378, Conway. He is buried in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Conway, Harry County, South Carolina. Another unit member was killed on the same day. The two men were:
