Dear brother Teddy,

It's now been 33 years since we last laughed and cried together on the God forsaken Hill 861 at Khe Sanh. Just 3 years ago I finally came to see you. I didn't mean to break down like I did, but I felt you through that cold granite wall and I guess I finally faced this demon that I've been living with for so long.

I'm sorry I couldn't help you that night. I wish I could have been braver and come to your aid as you lay dying in that trench. I have begged for forgiveness and I'm finally starting to feel a little better about that terrible night. I am still trying to locate your family to tell them what a hero you were to me as you tried to save another life while losing yours. My wife knows the occurences of what led up to your death and she has been my strength.

Teddy, I want you to know that you are not forgotten and forever will be in my heart, and someday we will once again be brothers in arms, each other's arms.

I miss you Bro, I'll see you Memorial Day during Rolling Thunder.

Love and Semper Fi
Your eternal friend, "SHU"
