Dear Uncle Jerry,

Although I never met you before you were killed, you have always been in my heart. Had you have lived where you could see me grow up, I'm sure I would have had many questions about life, and I'm sure you could have given me guidance. I know my dad missed you being around. He doesn't talk about you much, unlike grandpa, although Jenny is always on his mind.

I feel close to you because my dad would tell me stories about you. You did the kind of things I did. I'm now in Hollywood. I've taken the chance like you would have. I'm looking for that beautiful woman to fall in love with like you did. Your kids are all fine. James and I have talked a few times over the last months.

This letter along with my prayer goes out to the family you left behind.

Amen.

I would like anyone who served with Jerry or remembers him during his tour in Vietnam to contact me. I'm curious to know what was going on in his head the week before his death. This was his second tour and he died within two weeks.
