I was a year behind Jim in high school. He was friendly and outgoing and was always upbeat and cheerful. He was a big sports fan and was liked and known by everybody. Thank you for your sacrifice. We are all proud of you.

Jim was my best friend in high school and was my best man at my wedding. I can't thank him enough for being my friend and I know one day in heaven I'll be able to tell him how much I appreciate the sacrifice he made so we can sleep in peace at night and the freedom we have because of what Jim and all of the servicemen and women did by giving the ultimate sacrifice for family and country.

A Note from The Virtual WallOn 13 December 1967 a UH-1D (tail number 66-01186) of the 176th AHC had an in-flight tail rotor failure. The aircraft nosed over, spun, crashed, and burned near Chu Lai. Six men died in the crash:
