My name is Tom Watkins and John (Wally) and I were friends when we were both students at the College of the School of the Ozarks in Hollister, Missouri from 1964 to 1966. He was in the same dormitory, Smith Dorm, where I was dorm President and he was on the dorm council. We became friends and ran around together the last semester we were in school. He worked at the school Radio Station as a disk jockey and was very good at it! When my wife and I announced our engagement, he was the first person to bring us a wedding gift. That was the type of guy he was, considerate and thoughtful! He was very polished and sophisticated for his time. I know over the years things can get blown out of proportion, but he was truly a nice guy!

My name is Patrick Bieneman. I served with WO Wallace in "C" Troop, 1/9 Cav. I was in the infantry and I know we counted on him to get us out of troubled spots many times. Sir, I am proud to have served with you. Your actions in Vietnam brought great honor to you, your family and to the 1st Cav.
From a comrade in "C" Troop 1/9 Cav, |
