"Greater love hath no man than this, Harry and I were in Flight School together. Harry had already survived one tour in Vietnam on the ground, but he wanted to fly. One day in July, 1971 Harry sat in our trailer with my wife while I was at Ft. Rucker in class. All the wives had adopted him as a wonderful bachelor, soft-spoken, trustworthy and determined. Harry was watching her play with our new son, David, the first born of the Gray Hat class. Harry knew we were all headed to Vietnam after flight school. He said to Emily, "You and Willie have so much to live for, and I really don't have anyone but myself and my mom. If I could, I would take Willie's place." He did.
We miss you Harry.

Harry Thain, You are missed by all of your friends. I too, was with you in flight school, and I remember meeting your parents on Oct. 5, 1971 in Fort Rucker, Alabama. If any family members are reading this message, please contact me by phone at 210-493-2347 (home) or 210-213-6686 (cell) or at the postal or e-mail addresses below. I was the one who gave you several photos of the P-51D Mustang. You were interested in War Birds, like I was and still am. You also mentioned you wanted to see and maybe settle in Australia. Thoughts and prayers with you...
