20 Mar 2001 LCpl Otte, 2226466 USMC, was serving in Co L, 3d Battalion, 4th Marines, 3d Marine Division, FMF when he was mortally wounded on Thursday, 7 Sept 1967 by rocket or mortar fire in Quang Tri Province of the Republic of South Vietnam. He is listed on "The Wall" in Washington, DC Panel 26E-Row 030. He is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Blair Township, Grand Traverse County, Michigan. Gailey, Murray, UT, Mike 3/4 Later in the day a Mike 3/4 patrol had contact with an NVA unit about a kilometer south of Con Thien, losing 12 more Marines in that engagement: Sgt David A.
