26 Dec 1999 Boyd and his family believed in what he was doing. My son was named after his uncle Boyd and his Grandpa Newbold. You never leave my thoughts. Your brother Steve 04 Dec 2005 It's been over 36 years, and not a day has gone by you're not in my thoughts. We lost Dad just 5 years after we lost you, I think it was from a broken heart. Mom passed just five years ago, and I know you were there to receive them both. I was only 15 when you left for Vietnam and I was never sure just what you did over there. This last summer I received a call from a friend of yours who served with you in Det B-36 at Long Hai. It was Don, and what a terrific guy. He told me a lot of what you did, the battles you were in and the times at the beach. He put names on the photos I have of yours and gave me several other names. That call and the ones to follow are the best thing that could have happened to me. I'm at ease knowing you were with such good people. All your nieces and nephews have grown up feeling as if they know you, we all tell stories about you and talk about you as if it was yesterday. They are all so proud of you. I still have your car, it's in the last stages of a complete frame-up rebuild. It is all done in your memory. I don't see your old friends much any more. I saw Mike several years ago and I guess about the same for Kent. Talking to Don has brought a lot of closure for me, and I still talk to you and Dad all the time. I'm so proud of what you accomplished in such a short time, you are my hero!!!!! Thank you and all the others for giving me the oppertunity to raise my family in freedom. You are truly missed. 01 Mar 2007 Hey Big Brother, I'm not sure what to say other than "I love you!" Mom, Dad and you are all gone, but Nancy, Steve & I keep your memories alive in our children. My son is so proud of his Uncle Boyd whom he never met and my Grandchildren are even starting to know who you are by the pictures in the stairway. Steve and Nancy have both been in contact with your old friends and I hope one day that we can learn more about who you were outside of being a great brother and son. Love you....
