Greg... You made such an impact on a little 8 year old girl. I'm sure you never even realized how special you made me feel but I've never forgotten almost 50 years later. Sadly you made the Vietnam War real to me the day I opened the Advocate and read you'd been killed. I was a teenager ... so carefree & naive. I was at a friend's house sitting on her front lawn waiting for her when I picked up her paper and opened it and saw the news. I cried that day just as I cried when I found your name on the Wall when it came to town and just as I cried this morning when I saw your picture on the Wall at the Veteran's Office. I have never forgotten you. I never will. Thank you for being so sweet and caring to me when I was a sad little 8 year old. Thank you for defending our wonderful country. Rest in Peace. You will always be my personal Vietnam Hero.
