This is for my old classmate at Lane High School in Charlottesville, Virginia. We knew him as "Tony." I didn't know him well but what I remember best about Tony is that he made friends easily and was always smiling and laughing. In 1966 I heard that he had been killed in Viet Nam. I never heard any more about him. I had no idea that his name was Grandville R. Jones until I found the No Quarter Database.

A Note from The Virtual WallOn 05 Dec 1965, during Operation BUSHMASTER II, the 2/2nd Inf became heavily engaged with an estimated VC regiment. They were supported by A/2/33rd Arty and reinforced by 2/28th Infantry. During what became known as the battle of Ap Nha Mat, the US units killed 301 VC, captured many weapons, and destroyed a main camp ... but there were 39 dead and 3 missing Americans. They were
