Peter Huk was assigned to 2nd Plt of D 1/506 101 Abn Div. He was in my Squad. On the morning of July 21, 1970 our night defensive position took about 80 mortar rounds. Unfortunately he did not survive the barrage. I don't want him to be forgotten. He had only been with Delta Company a couple of months.

Peter will never be forgotten. He was my older brother and my best friend. I have carried his dog tag with me for over 36 years. I have often wondered what he would have accomplished with his life if he had not been taken at such a young age, for he was a very smart and talented young man. He, along with the other 58,000+ young men and women who gave their lifes for freedom - I hope their lives were not a waste and someone somewhere will never forget them. I have the GREATEST respect for all who served in the Vietnam war and I know the families still miss their loved ones after all these years. Presidents make decisions, but young men and women pay the price.
