He was my cousin, but he was like a big brother to me and sometimes like a dad. He was my best friend and always a Hero to me - long before he became a Hero to our Nation. I loved him very much and I miss him so very much......

I will never forget him......

Gary, it will soon be 40 years since we arrived in-country togeather. I think of you often and enjoy the memories of the good times we had as young "engineers" playing in the dirt, drinking beer and making a difference. You are missed and will never be forgotten as you were a true friend and buddy.

To one of the best 290 scraper operators in Company C, 864th Engineers. The one that so proudly and effectively operated the 290M known to us all as "Mellow Yellow". I think of you and Mike most every day. I can see your faces whenever I think of you. I have prayed for your Family over the years.

From a friend who served with Gary in Vietnam, 1967-1969,
