Aaron was from the small town of Fluvanna, Texas, which is north of Snyder, Texas in Scurry County, Texas. It's almost a ghost town now. Aaron attended schools in Fluvanna and was among the last students to attend before the school was closed down and the kids were bused to Snyder to attend school. Aaron was married and the father of a son. He enlisted in the Army in 1957 at age 19 and was in his third enlistment when he was killed when a land mine destroyed his APC. He is buried in his home town of Fluvanna, Texas. He is remembered by Scurry County and by the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans' Memorial located in Midland, Texas. May his sacrifice not be forgotten.
From a PBVVM representative, 14 Dec 2007 Upon receipt of Aaron's personnel records through a FOIA request, his record shows that in addition to his listed awards he was also awarded a Combat Infantryman's Badge.
