A Note from The Virtual Wall

Seven men of B Company, 4th Bn, 12th Infantry, died when they were ambushed while crossing an irrigation canal on rafts while on patrol. The concealed enemy opened fire while the U.S. soldiers were in mid-canal, killing two by gunshot and one with a fragmentation weapon. Four men drowned, pulled under by the weight of their gear.
