A Note from The Virtual Wall

On February 28, 1970 the lead APC of a resupply convoy headed to Dau Tieng from the battalion forward base detonated an explosive device. The APC was completely destroyed and seven men from HQ Company were killed:

  • SGT Eugene Carter, Warrenton, NC
  • SGT Donnie R. Chastain, Greer, SC
