Steve, you were a good friend. I wish that I could have done more on the night you died. I think of you always. 35 years ago and it seems like yesterday. I'm sure you have found peace where you're at.
Your bud forever |
Steve Campbell, I have thought about you nearly every day since you died that night in Vietnam. I was with you that night and held you in my arms until the chopper got there to take you away. You were a "Class A" soldier. We miss you and may your family find peace. your friend always,
Doug Scott
03 Nov 2007 I would love to hear from friends I served with in Vietnam. I was there from May 1, 1967 to May 1, 1968. I think of Steve Campbell and Billy Kelsall every day.
Doug Scott From The Virtual Wall: SP4 Billy A. Kelsall of Savannah, Georgia, was one of 18 US soldiers killed in action at Tam Quan on 10 December 1967. He was serving with B Company, 1/12 Cav. |
Child of Mine"I'll lend you for a while a child of mine," He said."For you to love the while he lives and mourn for when he's dead. It may be six or seven years, or twenty-two or three, But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me? He'll bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief, You'll have his lovely memories as solace for your grief."
"I cannot promise he will stay; since all from earth return,
"I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, Thy will be done! Steve, you will live in our heart and memories forever. From your family...
