I served with Donnie, he was one of the good Marines that made the ultimate sacrifice...
A memorial initiated by a friend and fellow Marine. |
Donnie was my brother. I was 15 when he was killed. If anyone out there served with my brother please contact me ... I loved him as a brother and my best friend.

Donnie was my father's brother and lost his life just 3 months before I was born. One of his last letters home is a keepsake of mine because he lamented to his mother how he couldn't wait to see the "baby" when he finally got home. Our entire family's lives changed when Uncle Donnie lost his life, and the "baby" became his namesake. Although I am a female, I proudly bear the name Donna, in honor of my Uncle. I never knew him as a man and an Uncle, and I would be honored for anyone that would to please forward any stories they could share about him. GOD Bless all those who served and all those who lost their lives. It was fortunate that my father came home from Vietnam, his brother was not as lucky. Please respond to dsmith@rtelco.net Thank You!
