I served with Tom in earl 1968 at Fort Campbell. We were assigned to the 52nd Ordnance Company, Clarksville Base. He was on orders to Vietnam, and I took over his duties as Platoon Leader of an Infantry unit which provided security for an artillery unit which had nuclear capabilities.

In the short time I knew him he demonstrated leadership qualities I attempted to mirror. Just prior to his departure from Fort Campbell on his way to RVN, the rest of the Company and I took Tom out for a party. He was always well reserved, and made sure all of US made it home OK.

I just wanted all of you to know that he was a regular guy, a good Officer and a valued friend. To his parents and loved ones, Tom was, in every sense of the word, a Patriot and Soldier.
