Never a day goes by that I don't think of you. Mom and Dad are 81 and 82 now, and extremely ill. Uncle Bob saw an obituary from Fort Worth, Texas, about Sam Hunt, and Mom and Dad went to visit his family in the summer of 1968. Sam's brother was following you and Sam in another helicopter and we were able to find out how you died. The rotor broke and you crashed. I hope you didn't suffer. It's affected my whole life. I love you so much,

A simple granite monument dedicated to 70 men of the 114th AHC killed in action in Vietnam was unveiled Saturday, May 27, 2000, at the Georgia Veterans' Memorial State Park, Cordele, Georgia. The monument was placed in front of a helicopter used by the 114th during the Vietnam War that is part of the park's aircraft exhibit; the history of the memorial and its dedication is on the 114th's site .
