My brother, Garland, was my protector and good friend when he was alive. He will always be my hero. My life has never been the same without him. His sacrifice, like so many others, has not gone unappreciated. I think of him every day. Your sweet and gentle soul lives on in my memory. Netta

I am Bryan Thomas Benoit, the brother of Garland Dave Benoit. Me, my sister and friends went to the reunion in Branson, Missouri this year, 2006, and met some of the guys who served with Garland and I must say it was one of the greatest events of my life. Questions were finally answered after all these years and we hope to make other reunions in the future and meet some of the other guys who could not make it. The day the family received the notice of Garland's death was a day I was home sick from school and if I could draw a picture it would be perfect. I remember every detail from the furniture I was laying on to the weather outside. Thanks to all the men who helped Garland. Please feel free to email me for anything I may help with.

I did not know Garland at all, but his memory lives on in his family. I learned of him from his brother Bryan and if Garland was anything like Bryan is, he was a fine and decent man. Who could ask for more? You died so that we coud be free; I thank you for your sacrifice.
