To my Dickie
I asked for strength that I might achieve,
I asked for health that I might do great things,
I asked for riches that I might be happy,
I asked for power that I might have the praise of men,
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life,
I received nothing that I asked for, 14 Jul 2003 To My Pier Rat-Dickie, It has been one year of searching to find you... Next year, my husband and I will go and visit you and the family in Chatham... I will never forget how great you looked in your Army Uniform before you left for Vietnam... You will always be in my heart and in my soul... Paying The Price:
Never will I forget, the price you have paid...
Dickie, I have found you and thanks to Wayne - I have the other men on that crash day... All of you are now a part of my life forever held dear... Rest in God's Arms, you are now a part of God's Army...
10 Dec 2003
Merry Christmas to you, Dickie, And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the sacrifices you had made for our great country and for me, your Dear Friend..
Dickie, Clayton and I will see you next year in Chatham, Mass. When we knew each other, you were a teenager at the Pier. When you stepped into your Army uniform, you turned into One Great Man, no more a kid. The last time I saw you walking out the door in uniform you turned and looked at me and said "Nancy, I am coming back in a body bag". I told you with tears in my eyes "Dickie, do not say that again, you are coming back". We both did not know God wanted you with him, to serve in HIs Great Army. My heart still hurts for you and always will till the day we both meet again. Just think of all the chili dogs you can eat with onion rings. I miss you Dear Friend, with friendship - Nancy L. Brooks
