The database page for James Michael Young
Jim was a great guy, and always had a smile and a good word for you. I had the privilege of serving with him both in Vietnam and at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Jim talked often of his home and family in the Dallas/Carrollton area. You're truly missed, buddy!
From a friend, |
James was a wonderful person, a good friend, and a loving fiancee. He always joked and smiled and tried to keep everyone in good spirits. He wasn't afraid of hard work and he wasn't afraid to admit that there were days he was scared. But he did the job he was trained to do. I salute James for his bravery, and I send love for his memory. You will always be remembered--Buttons. Love, Dale |
A Note from The Virtual WallThe database record indicates that SP4 James Young died in a helicopter crash, but that isn't so. He was flying as a door gunner in a Huey and was hit by enemy gunfire. The Huey did not go down and his crewmates survived the incident, which took place about 7 kilometers northeast of Binh Khe.
