SSgt Widner was further memorialized in a Country music video by singer George Jones in 2002 where his picture was flashed in a background scene. At Jones' performance in Belton, Texas in 2002 he was presented with a POW/Mia bracelet with SSgt Widner's name by a friend of Widner's sister.

I got a bracelet with Danny's name on it at a 1997 Vietnam Veterans' reunion. It finally broke last month but I will keep it.
