REMEMBERED

16 Aug 2007

I lived one block over from James and remember him well. He had a laugh that was infectious and you would never forget it.

I played against him in baseball and we ran around together for a while. He took me to his church and I was baptized there, and during a sleepover in his back yard I remember us talking about what heaven would be like. He knows what heaven is like now and I hope to see him again someday.

I am currently serving in the military going on 33 years and wear a black KIA Bracelet on my wrist with his name on it and I will be buried with it when my time comes.

See you someday, my friend.

A Note from The Virtual Wall

Very little is known about PFC Weston's death. The casualty file indicates he died of wounds on 27 April 1971, and the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots' Association database says he was wounded by small arms fire on 26 April 1971 - but gives no further details.

Since this memorial page was first prepared, The Virtual Wall and the VHPA have determined that PFC Weston was flying as the observer in OH-6A tail number 68-17299 when it was shot down 16 kilometers north-northwest of KM Quang Ngai Airfield.
