Kenneth Wayne Tingle, who was known as "Wayne", was a extremely popular sports enthusiast who looked similar to a young James Garner in "Maverick". He was a great baseball player, ladies man, mischeivious and full of the devil. His pride and joy was a brand new white Chevy Corvair, along with his beautiful mother, a sister named Bunnie, and a future all-star ball playing kid-brother, 9 year old Danny Tingle. Wayne and I were good friends as I whipped a neighborhood bully who liked picking on little guys, including Wayne. The last time I saw Wayne, I rode to Riverside, California, about 8 miles distant with him and his pretty little fiancee (soon to be wife). I heard from a mutual friend, Kenny Brown of Mira Loma, who was in Vietnam with Wayne, that they were in a fire fight with the Cong and Wayne ran for ammo. Kenny told me that Wayne brought back plenty of ammo, but decided to make just one more run to be sure, and it cost him his life. That was Wayne "AS HE HAD NO LIMITATIONS" and no fear either. His wife had a baby shortly after his death. Wayne along with all of the others I've honored were brave young men who gave all, and I will never forget or dishonor their memory or their absolute sacrifices. LIONHEARTS |
