02 Sep 2003 Jerry was our hero. He married my sister Linda Sue McVay in May 1966. Right after marriage Jerry had to go to war, so we never got to know him that well. He came home on leave one time before he left for Vietnam and his life ended there. But even though we didn't get to know him that well, Jerry will always be our hero. I know Jerry did his best for his country and he wasn't a hero till he gave it his all ... and that's why now we can say "He is our hero". From his sister-in-law, Vera McVay 30 May 2004 Jerry, I just wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you as like a lot of other times but today to give you a big thanks for helping give my family and friends a safe place to live.
