David came home after being wounded when some of the explosives he was working with detonated prematurely. He was working in a boat dropping charges to support a dredge in the river in front of Dong Tam.

David died one year later while undergoing surgery for his wounds at Walter Reed. He is buried at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville,OH.

David was one of the older guys who was looked up to by us younger guys. He was always there for us.
