"DOC" - it's been a long time my friend, and I know you were looking down on us on June 8, 2007. Ten of your fellow comrades got together in Louisville, KY on that date. It was the first time in 38 years that I had seen the others from LZ LIZ. Most notably, we paid a tribute to you on that date in honor of the 38th anniversary of your death. I remember that day, June 8, 1969, all too well. My friend, you have a wonderful family. I communicate with our brother Dave frequently, and we have become friends. I know you are with your parents in Heaven; I only wish I would have had the opportunity to meet them. As for you, you are a hero in the eyes of many. You are probably the bravest soldier that I had the privilege of personally knowing. They gave you the Bronze Star and Purple Heart; what a small consolation for your sacriface. Thank you for helping to save the lives of many. We all miss you my friend! May you, Melville "Buzz" Lurth, aka: "Doc", Rest in Peace! You will never be forgotten!
