James was the 5th of 7 children born to Neal and Melania Kruse. He was raised on a dairy farm. He attended 12 years of school at St. Luke's school in St. Lucas, Iowa. Prior to his death his Dad died in 1960. He died way too young. He has always been remembered and cherished through the years by his family.
