The database page for Joel R Kohler
My father was talking about you the other day. Specifically, about the trip he took to bring you home to Texas. He speaks highly of you to this day, remembering your days together at flight school, then at LZ Dog and eventually when he escorted you home for burial. He tells me that we all do stupid things when we are young, and I'm sure if you were here today, you wouldn't think that a quick draw contest with pistols was such a good idea. The photo was taken in June or July 1967 at LZ Dog, Bong Son, Binh Dinh Province, RVN. You are remembered fondly by the Bullwhip Squadron, and by me.
