02 Nov 2003 Sergeant Flint was a fellow squad leader in my platoon in Vietnam and he was killed in action after I came home. He wanted me to come to Naples, Florida, his home town when he got home, to go Gator hunting and ride in his swamp buggy and airboat. I so wish we could have had that chance. I miss you all so much! I will never forget the night Woody was killed in action and you tried to save me from getting KIA as I only had about 3 weeks left in Nam. I remember you grabbing my straps and pulling me back twice and the second time you asked me if you had to deck me to keep me back in the rear! I talked with Sgt Wayne Carlton and he told me how you were KIA trying to help someone else who was in trouble. Such a great and caring young man you were. Sort of reminds me of how I felt myself - always looking out for my men. I had a guardian Angel looking after me over there and I guess I had more to do here on earth, my friend. Not a day goes by that I don't remember you all. I talked with your sister Tammy and finally got a picture of you to send to her. I wrote your brother but he never answered so I guess he is still having problems with your loss. I think we all do.
