What a great man! My Uncle Clyde was an outstanding Husband, Father and friend. He stepped in when others would not. He was the father of three very young daughters and the oldest who was born totally handicap and dependent on him. When my uncle died she was placed in a nursing home until she passed at the age of 16 years. My Uncle stepped in and helped with me and my three siblings after my father, his oldest brother, was killed in the line of duty in an F-101 Voodoo plane crash in November 1962. What a smile, what a heart, what a man. I love and miss you.

A Note from The Virtual WallOn 19 Mar 1970, two UH-1P aircraft of the 20th Special Operations Squadron based at Ban Me Thuot departed on a training flight. UH-1P tail number 65-07944, carrying a four-man crew, was shot down by enemy ground fire southeast of Ban Me Thuot. One gunner was thrown clear and survived, but three men died in the crash:
