Tom was just like a brother to me. He was honorable and had a great sense of humor. He was the kind of person you could always count on in time of need - a true comrade. On my birthday, December 19th, we were walking around a bomb crater. Tommy had stepped on this big rock next to the crater. When it was my turn to step on it and go around it broke loose and I fell in the water sinking to the bottom. He was looking at me, laughing, saying "Happy birthday!" before jumping in to help me out. I told Tommy "I thought you were going to let me drown while you laughed." "Not my buddy," he said to me. I have never forgotten him and the many laughs we had and I never will, always honoring his memory. Thanks, Tommy. Your Pal, Jerry |
