Pfc Dan Bullock was a true American hero despite his age at the time of his death. Pfc Bullock saved the lives of members of his battalion by retrieving ammunition not once but twice. A Note from The Virtual WallA night attack on the An Hoa Combat base on 07 June 1969 cost Fox 2/5 Marines five men:
When his body was returned there was neither a memorial ceremony nor a headstone for his burial. Years later, a Marine Corps friend learned of the situation and undertook to change it. The result was a memorial stone above his grave site in the Elmwood Cemetery, Goldsboro, North Carolina.
