A Note from The Virtual WallFifteen members of D Company, 554th Engineer Bn, died on 03 Jan 1969 when the battalion mess hall at Cu Chi was mined:
Among the POWs was a nurse who had previously worked for the 554th Engineer Battalion. The nurse was instrumental in the capture of 3 females employed at Cu Chi Base Camp who worked for the VC and were involved in the mining of the 554th Engineer Battalion mess hall. |
