The database page for Edgar William Blankenship
My name is Richard (Rick) Schmidt. I grew up with Edgar in West Alexandria, Ohio. We were in the same class in school and were in FFA together, all Edgar wanted to do was be a farmer and raise ponies, and of course a family. I am only two days older than him, grew up with him, and was in the Navy, stationed at the Small Craft Repair Facility, Da Nang, Viet Nam. I had the very unpleasant experience of reading of Edgar's death in the "Stars and Stripes". Edgar is not the only friend I lost over there but he is the only childhood friend that did. As I said, we were in the same class and the only ones who were sent to the Nam. Please add this hero to your wall.
