The database page for Harry L Alway

Harry was born in Wallace, Idaho, on January 21, 1941, to Don and Mabel Alway. The family moved to Spokane, WA in 1949 where he lived until moving to Pasco, WA in 1959. Harry joined the Army paratroopers in 1960. He was sent to Vietnam in January 1967 and was killed at the beginning of a big push on July 13, 1967. Harry is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, 8196-W Wilson Dr, Sect 13, Arlington, VA.

Harry is survived by his widow, LaeRuth Alway, of Pembroke, NC; son, Michael Alway, of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; brother, Russell Alway, of Vancouver, WA; sister, Arleen Cranston, of Portland, OR; and sister, Freda Gorman, of Sacramento, CA. His father, Donald Alway, Sr., passed away in 1970; mother, Mabel Landon, passed away in 1996; and brother, Donald Alway, Jr., passed away in 1995.

Although Harry has not been here to spend time with his son, Mike Alway (only one year old at the time of his death), and his grandchildren (Mike's children), Emily born March 28, 1996; Rebecca born November 17, 1999; and Luke "Harry" born July 30, 2001, I know he is looking down from Heaven with great pride. These are the precious gifts from him to his widow, Lae Ruth, and to his and her families.

Harry was a wonderful person and will live on in our hearts forever.
